Kyle Gilles is a composer and horn player studying New Media Composition at Illinois State University with Dr. Alex Stephenson, Dr. Alex Taylor, and Dr. Carl Schimmel. He writes music for films, video games, and live performances. Recently, Kyle performed a recital consisting entirely of his music, and he has been composing for students' films and game development projects. In the future, Kyle hopes to work full time as a freelance media composer, writing soundtracks for films and video games.
Kyle Gilles has won several awards for his compositions from organizations such as the Illinois State University Honors Program and the Illinois Music Education Association. He was also a recipient of the Harlan W. Peithman Memorial Scholarship in 2025.
