Kyle Gilles first fell in love with music when he joined his middle school band as a French horn player in 2016. He taught himself to play the piano and improvise simple songs. Kyle began writing down the music he was coming up with and quickly became obsessed with music composition.
Since then, Kyle Gilles has taken private compositions lessons with Dr. Mario Pelusi, and he is currently studying New Media Composition with Dr. Carl Schimmel, Dr. Alex Stephenson, and Dr. Alex Taylor at Illinois State University.
Kyle Gilles has won several awards for his compositions from organizations such as the Illinois Music Education Association and the Morton High School Composers’ Guild.
