Romance in Eb Major

About This Piece:

I composed "Romance in Eb Major" for horn and piano, the two instruments that I play most proficiently. My familiarity with those instruments allowed my writing process to be very organic and improvisational. I refined much of the composition’s musical material directly on the horn or piano before writing it down. This approach enabled me to craft a flowing melody that is developed throughout the piece. "Romance in Eb Major" was premiered by Kyle Gilles (horn) and Peter Gao (piano) on November 13, 2024 in Kemp Recital Hall at Illinois State University for the "Music Factory" recital.
